On Friday, May 1st, Stand Up Lorain County is joining the nationwide MayDay movement. When the rules are broken at the top, it takes more than a rally to make a change—it takes collective action. We are choosing to withdraw our participation from the status quo: No Work, No School, and No Shopping.
We will be gathering on the walking bridge in North Olmsted to make our voices heard. This is a new location with a clear view of the highway—perfect for our banners and reaching thousands of commuters.
Where to Meet:
Location: North Olmsted Walking Bridge (Accessible via Sutton Dr. or Bretton Ridge Rd.)
The Vibe: Bring your signs, your flags, and your energy! We’ll be enjoying the "positive honks" and the company of like-minded neighbors. This is a great chance to reach a large number of people while building our community.
Shift Times:
Morning: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Mid-day: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Evening: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Our Demands for May 1st:
Tax the Rich: Put families first, not fortunes.
Human Rights: No ICE. No war. No private armies serving unchecked federal power.
Expand Democracy: Hands off our vote; prioritize people over corporate power.
Together, we are flexing our collective muscle and showing our unity through a day of action. Let's celebrate May 1st by showing the strength of our community.
