The Beginning

Dara Adkinson organized The Rural Lorain County Democratic Precinct Association, also known as the Rural Dems, in 2020. The objective behind the group’s formation was to help Rural Democrats get a seat at the table with countywide organizers as well as provide an opportunity for like minded neighbors to meet. The goals of the RLCDPA are:

  • To help people to feel supported in their political views as Democrats in Lorain county.

  • To provide volunteer opportunities, including community activities and fundraising for both the organization and the candidates and issues that Democrats support.

  • To spread awareness about Ohio Democrats and issues facing Ohioans with regular meetings, community involvement and a social media presence.
