2026 Primary Election

Step 1 Getting Ready to Vote

April 6 is the DEADLINE to register to vote in May 5 Primary Election.

To register online you will need to provide the following:

  • Ohio driver’s license or Ohio identification card number

  • Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Address

  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

If you do not have any portion of the required information, click the Register Here button above and you will have an opportunity to request a paper form. Alternatively you can visit the Lorain County Board of Elections at1985 North Ridge Road Lorain, Ohio 44055

Step 2 Confirm your voter information and registration

When Ohio voter rolls are periodically purged of inactive voters, active voters are sometimes accidentally removed. Check your status before April 6th at the button below.

Additionally, many Lorain communities are growing and have new precincts. It is also not unusual for polling locations to change. Find your precinct and polling location at the link below.

Step 3 Know the Candidates and the Issues

Familiarize yourself with the candidates and issues by attending a meeting of the Lorain County Rural Democrats to have the opportunity to both learn about the issues and meet with candidates. Use the buttons below to see the Official Candidate and Issues Lists.

Step 4 Vote

Early voting for the 2026 Primary begins on April 7 at the Lorain County Board of Elections at1985 North Ridge Road Lorain, Ohio 44055. Check the schedule for voting days and hours.

Voting in Person is May 5th at your Polling location. See you there!
